Master’s message April 2023

We are moving into a very busy period both for the country and the Coachmakers. As I write this message, I am touring The Netherlands with a group of Coachmakers led by Liveryman John Knightley. A full report will appear in next month’s Coachlines. It was on one of these trips 20 years ago that I became fully engaged with the Livery and my progression to Master began. The rest is history. These trips and all Livery Committee social events allow Coachmakers to meet in smaller groups and forge new friendships.

Closer to home, on the morning of the Coronation, please take the time to look in your inbox where you will find a behind the scenes glimpse of the preparations which have been made at the Royal Mews to support this magnificent occasion.

And finally, planning for the Banquet on Tuesday 6th June is well under way. Sales of tickets and tables are buoyant, and we are just a stone’s throw from reaching our target and it doesn’t matter if we exceed it. So, like a Le Mans 24 hour race, one final push and we will make it over the line, so don’t delay booking your seat at this prestigious event which this year celebrates British success during 100 years of the Le Mans 24 Hour Race.
